Jim Counter grew up with two sisters and two brothers, and is loved and supported by incredibly kind and caring parents in the small rural town of Aurora, located in northeastern Wisconsin.At the age of 12, Jim began his musical journey in front of live audiences and his love and passion for the art continue to this day. He’s opened shows for artists like The Marshall Tucker Band, Toby Keith, John Kay of Steppenwolf and Martina McBride. Jim and his band Riley Road won “State Band Champions” at the 1991 Hodag Music Festival in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Counter sang the National Anthem at two historic stadiums, Lambeau Field and Wrigley Field.

As a singer and composer, Counter’s been successfully involved in jingles for both radio and television. He recorded the theme song for the TV show “Hitting The Outdoors With Brian Noble.” Noble was the show’s host and Packers middle linebacker. As a songwriter, his original music appeared in a Robin Robert’s ABC TV special “In The Spotlight,” featuring Tim McGraw and Loretta Lynn. Jim was part of the 2012 “Cape May Singer-Songwriter Festival” in Cape May, NJ. In 2014, he had the pleasure of co-writing some songs with Ms. Maggi Vaughn; poet laureate of Tennessee.
